Why are baby items like strollers and car seats so ugly these days?
I know the important thing is that they are safe but I have looked through hundreds online and in the store and pretty much every single one is dark brown with either beige, light pink, or lime green in either a plain, plaid, or polka dot design. Why don’t they make more variety in patterns and colors, such as bright or pastel colored animals or something else fun and cute?

I think because they want to be loved by a huge audience since EVERYONE with a baby has to get one. They try and make them as simple as possible so they can please a larger audience.

Probaby because if they made a unique pattern there might be only a few people buying them…..instead they make something that more people would be interested in! Although its smart, but sometimes I can’t stand to see my stroller used by so many! It’s like your wedding dress, its makes you mad when you see someone else wearing it! LOL. I think people would make more profit off of patterned design if they jacked up the price because its unique. Although I wouldn’t buy it lol

I really struggled to find a pram I liked for my baby. I can’t stand the 3 wheeled ones or the ones with tiny wheels at the front. I think they are really ugly. All the ones I liked were like that. Toys r us had an animal print one recently. It was a cream colour

for mass appeal, but mines is red and cream and everyone comments on how nice it is,,, wheels_4_babies presents: 3 in 1 Travelsystem City Driver incl. pushchair and car seat in design “RED-CREAM” - incl. carry basket, changing bag and raincover - another 31 available designs in our shop

They are the robots of the future. They will be exploited on schools. So what I’m saying is that as fast as he doesn’t find any fun in colors or designs or whatever the children caught his attention, he’ll start playing video games , he’ll start correcting their parents , and he’ll become intellectual 100 %. They won’t feel anyone’s pain. They’ll become or they’re already becoming egocentric 100%.

That’s why they’re so ugly. To make them interested in other interests.

Maybe that’s just the current fashion where you are- it’s pretty much impossible to get a pastel, plaid or polka dot design here without special ordering it!
The one I purchased for my daughter is a deep bright red as the base colour with a pink and blue candy stripe as trim. I have a matching umbrella stroller for my son. Both are glaringly bright!
The most popular tandem stroller in my area is available in bright blue, black or silver with a grey paisley liner- I’ve yet to see the black one on the streets, everyone has the blue or silver.

You don’t want ugly — but you do want pastel coloured animals? Yiii

There is attractive stuff out there; it just takes a little more searching and a little more coin. Maxi-Cosi makes some relatively elegant car seats; we have a Philippe Starck stroller…

But _most_ stuff in stores looks like that now — dark brown with pink and polka dots, hey, it’s ‘modern’! People don’t have very good taste, Chinese factories can’t afford very good designers.
