Travel systems, car seats, and baby strollers?
I am confused regarding whether I should get a travel system or a separate car seat and baby stroller.
What age span are travel systems designed for?
What will be cheaper and more practical in the long run?

I don’t think I’ll be needing the stroller at all (or that often) until the baby is at least 4 months old…

What would you recommend?

PERSONALLY….. I PURCHASED THE TRAVEL SYSTEM…. WELL I ACTUALLY PURCHASED THE WHOLE SET OF GRECO LINDSEY GEAR….. CAR SEAT, STROLLER, SWING, PLAY PIN, && DIAPER BAG. IT JUST LOOKED MUCH CUTER BC EVERYTHING MATCHED. THE CHEAPER OPTION IS TO PURCHASE THE TRAVEL SYSTEM BC ITS USUALLY 30-40 BUCKS CHEAPER THAN BUYING THE STROLLER && CAR SEAT SEPERATE BC THEY ARE USUALLY $ 100 EACH…..

I would actually let the car you plan to use with bub primarily decide that for you- some of the smaller ones do not have enough room in the back for a convertible seat to be used rear facing.

DO get the car seat with the highest rearfacing limits you can afford that will fit in your car, it reduces the likelihood of having to buy a second rear facing seat!

ALL our cars have very roomy back seats so we went with convertibles and separate strollers, not that any of them other than the all terrain stroller got used much and that was only for cross country hikes with my son as a newborn before I discovered baby wearing!

HI, There are so many differing products to buy. I would have safety the uppermost ( which doesn’t necessarily mean the most expensive)
Research on the safest mode of transport for your baby for each situation. Some products can be used for both stroller and car.

You can go with car seat stroller frame for the first 4 months. It costs $ 59.

Then you can go with umbrella stroller which can be reclined for your baby comfort and lightweight and foldable for your comfort, such as McLaren, or any other you choose. And you can still use stroller frame whenever you need it.

Congrats on your baby!

I got a travel system and still use it now my son is 16 months old and plan on using it until he will walk everywhere. It is very useful and always has been (even though the front wheel is a little dodgy after being stuff into my mother’s tiny boot so many times when she took us for days out) and I saved a lot more money than I would have if I’d got the buggy and car seat separate I’d have paid a hell of a lot more.

Btw, you’re not supposed to use a stroller until 6 months unless it reclines.

I would say travel system. I bought the travel system becasue it is easyer rather than waking the baby uo to move them into the pushchair and then having an unsettled baby while your out you can just take the car seat out and out the baby in the pushchair in the car seat. This car seat will last until about 9 months by this time you will need to but a forward facing car seat, by also you will probobly want a smaller pushchair.
I didnt use my pushchair mum either i usually had her in the car and when i went shopping use the trolleys only used her 1st pushchair about 20 time and that was untill she was about 1. The only reasin i bought a new pushchair was so it was smaller( a stroller i think ) is because it took up alot of room in the car and she liked to walk alot when she could. Her new pushchair i bought her i have use on 3 occasions and they are when we have gone on holiday, usually just to oput stuff in so i dont have to carry it and my daughter likes to walk.

In terms of price a travel system will probobly work out cheaper than than a car seat and a pushchair. my pushchair when i bought it 3 years ago was £150.00 it was half price at the time which is why i bought that one. Her stroller was £90.00 a about 2 years ago. Her car seat i spent a lot of money on and was £170.00 but it is an isofix one and should last untill she is 10. i dont think you can skrimp on your childs safety.

I used a travel system for both my kids and would recommend it. The seat is usually good up to 25lbs (which lasted to my kiddo’s 1st bday). They all come with a base for your car which makes it easy to take out of the car and put in. They are nice because when the baby is still too small for the stroller, the car seat is made to snap on the top of the stoller facing backwards. I got my last travel system on sale for $ 100 at Target just because they were getting the next year models and this one was from the current year. So, shop around and you might get a good deal. You could easily spend $ 90 on a seat alone ! (also, if you have more than one car, or have grandparents that will be picking up the baby, you can purchase additional bases for other cars sometimes at the store where you bought the system or on line) Good luck!

I absolutely love our Graco travel system! We used the car seat up until she was 7 1/2 months and have used the stroller since birth and use it a lot more often than I ever thought that we would! :-)
